September 2026 - GTM Motions, B2B Sales and Community News
Our startups took the lessons from our Mumbai immersion to prioritize their top go-to-market motions, refine their customer acquisition process and implement strategies to attract, engage and delight customers.
What a startup GTM workshop revealed about winning early customers
Rukaiya Rangwala shared her GTM learnings across Marico, MobiKwik, Jabong, Rocket Internet and building her own startups with BonBillo's Impact Accelerator cohort. She worked 1-1 with our teams helping them prioritize GTM channels and sharpen how they price across markets.
Rukaiya led with the following question to help our startup teams prioritize their GTM motions: "Who already has your customer's attention and trust?"
Take for example Kubo Care, that helps assisted living operators reduce fall-related hospitalisations by up to 40%. Senior care operators already lean on consultants and industry conferences when they evaluate safety and operations solutions. That network is worth more than a generic digital campaign.
For LULA, a tech-enabled employee transport startup, facilities management and manpower providers are already empaneled with large employers and already understand procurement. Going through them beats building every enterprise relationship from scratch.
For CraftersWealth, that's making direct equity investing simple and structured, smaller brokers, wealth advisors, investment clubs and university communities carry more credibility than expensive performance marketing. In a category built on trust and compliance, education travels further than promotion.
Distribution is not only about reach. It is about borrowed credibility.
Worth asking before your next channel experiment. Are you buying attention, or are you borrowing trust?

Why B2B startup sales rarely go according to plan
1. Segment before you prospect. Electica Energy talking to fleet operators, OEMs and charging infrastructure players is really three different business cases, not one pitch.
2. Speak to the function, not just the industry. A CFO cares about cost and risk. An ops leader cares about efficiency. A CTO cares about integration.
3. Qualify honestly with Budget, Authority, Need, and Timing (BANT), and separate commit (high-confidence opportunities likely to close) from upside (possible deals, but with significant uncertainty).
4. Treat a proposal request as a qualification signal first. Sometimes it is buying intent. Sometimes it is price discovery.
5. Negotiate on more than price. Payment terms, contract length, scope, logo rights and exclusivity are all tradeable.
6. Build clients, not customers. Your happiest client is your best salesperson.
7. Run a weekly pipeline review that makes decisions, not one that repeats optimism.
Methodology gets you part of the way. Judgment does the rest.
A big thank you to Geet Lulla for an amazing session with the cohort.

Babblebots AI is hosting India's Largest AI Talent Drive this October
Now they are taking it pan-India as a virtual drive focused on AI-first roles and AI-enabled companies, with one clear goal: help companies identify the top 10% of AI talent in India.
Here is why we think this is a great fit for startup founders:
1. It is completely free for hiring companies. No placement or other fees.
2. Every candidate is pre-vetted through a 30 to 45 minute AI interview.
3. Eight role tracks, from AI Engineer and Forward Deployed Engineer to AI Product Manager, GTM Engineer and Interns.
