August 2026 - Mumbai Immersion, Jobs and Community News

We had a fantastic 3 days in Mumbai with BonBillo's India & Southeast Asia Impact Accelerator cohort, hearing from founders, operators, and investors. The immersion focused on helping our startups refine their go-to-market strategy and customer acquisition process.

1. Founders learning from founders: Swapnil Shah of Freight Tiger, Roli Gupta of BabbleBots AI, and Divya Kamerkar of Pinky Promise, each shared their journeys and hard-won lessons on product-market fit, growth, fundraising and recruiting.

2. Sharpening go-to-market: Rukaiya Rangwala shared her GTM learnings across Marico, MobiKwik, Jabong, Rocket Internet and building her own startups. She worked 1-1 with our teams helping them prioritize GTM channels and sharpen how they price across markets. Geet Lulla at Anchorage Capital Partners hosted a B2B sales masterclass covering qualification, POCs, proposals and commercial negotiation. His line we won't forget: your best salesperson is your existing happy customer.

3. Straight answers from investors: Rahil Rangwala at Accion Ventures took each team through their key metrics including LTV, CAC, payback period and gave them actionable feedback on refining their business models. Gautam Shewakramani at Inuka Capital gave founders an investor's perspective on how an early-stage raise really comes together.

4. Scaling impact: Alkesh Wadhwani shared his experience scaling impact at the Gates Foundation, working with government and partners, and why a structural change beats behaviour change every time. The biggest problems are often the least crowded. Solve one and the market takes care of itself.

5. Building with AI: We spent half a day leveraging BonBillo's AI agents to refine each team's positioning and customer acquisition strategy. The agents used deep context to make recommendations; founders made the decisions.

6. Mindfulness: Neha Swaminathan held an amazing breathwork workshop for our founders, helping them reset and energize.

7. Building relationships beyond the program: By day three the cohort were solving each other's problems, making introductions and comparing notes on markets.

We closed with a fun community mixer bringing together our portfolio founders, investors, partners and mentors. Huge thanks to Ashna Thakkar for pulling the whole thing together, and to our founders for showing up for each other.
